Les Halles with a little bit of Cherry Blossom

Or maybe a lot of Cherry Blossoms!

This is inside Les Halles in Washington, DC. The food was great and I was so glad to be finally eating there.

Near the front were Anthony Bourdain’s books propped up with champagne bottles. It was the cutest thing. Speaking of Anthony Bourdain, I still need to finish A Cook’s Tour. Jon says it’s a great read.

I had the signature onion soup and steak frites. Jon had the soup with blood sausage. Jared had the porc mignon. Jon and I shared a creme brulee. Personally, Jon’s creme brulee is much tastier (especially when I get a pile of strawberries atop my own brulee!!!). It was sad to see that they don’t use ‘real’ vanilla beans as that’s what Bourdain calls for in the recipe.

The cherry blossoms were so pretty. That’s for a later post though!

*The new wordpress is great!

What’s in your bag?

my-stuff-in-bag.JPG

Something different from the usual blog…

I joined this flickr group called “what’s in your bag” and I posted the same picture for acurazine ramblings (I would link it, but you must join in order to see it….) section for the thread “what do you carry?”

I find these discussions/posts interesting because it gives you a view into that person’s life.

My bag changes constantly, however the contents, rarely ever do.

In the picture are:

  • Chanel Cambon Large Tote (black with white cc’s)
  • Crumpler (for my canon p+s)
  • Pens (Bic Pro+ gel pens are awesome)
  • Tissues
  • At&t Tilt 8925 (it’s unlocked - I’m a t-mobile user)
  • Burberry glasses case
  • Burberry cosmetics case (pink nova check)
  • Chanel sunglasses (used if I’m wearing my contacts)
  • Cashmere gloves (only if it’s cold)
  • Orbit minty fresh gum
  • iPod
  • Lady Dior wallet
  • Hair ties (i lose them often….gotta have a lot of spares!)
  • Keys - my car, house, mailbox, storage for condo; my parent’s house keys are on another chain (keychain is Tiffany & Co. heart keychain with my married initials T. T. V. D)

Customer Service at Burberry - Top Notch!

Burberry Coat

From the picture, you can tell it’s my Burberry coat. I received the coat as a Christmas present from my husband and I’ve loved wearing the coat since then….

However, recently I discovered some threads coming loose near the bottom hem where the coat is sewed in a quilted pattern. I was briefly upset about the situation so I decided to act!

I called up my local Burberry store at Tyson’s Galleria and told them my problem. The man on the other line was really nice and said to just bring the coat in and they’ll exchange it for me!

I was so excited and went to the store as soon as I was available. Two women helped me in exchanging the coat. They were so lovely. Not only did they find my size, but they also had my size in SILVER BUTTONS!!!!!! Personally, I didn’t even know about the silver buttons, but I was excited to see it in that style! They said that they didn’t have my style in the black buttons that I had before (can be seen in on their website). The buttons I had were plastic and I was just fine with that, however, I find out that the silver buttons I have are not plastic, but actually of a heavier material (Jon says nickel coated in silver polish). They ‘clink’ so that was interesting.

So after this loooooong story - I just want to let everyone know that yes, the price of designer duds may be high, but the level of service that comes with it is, impeccable. I’ve had outstanding service with all the designer items that I’ve bought as well (Gucci, Chanel, Tiff. & Co.).

NEVER BUY FAKES!!!!

House Hunting

House hunting is a pain in the ass!!!!

Well, actually - let me rephrase - house hunting at this time and in this area is a pain in the ass.

My husband and I are looking to move to Lorton, but with so many foreclosures in the area, you cant seem to get an answer for weeks (7-8 to be exact).  I just absolutely hate that.  *sigh*

Overall - that’s what’s going on with Jon and I.  We’re ready to move, but no where to move to!  This sucks!

No picture because I don’t have a picture for this subject. :(

Being Fortunate

Morimoto

The above picture was taken at Morimoto.

The title of my post is being fortunate for all that I have been able to have and experience.  Morimoto was one of those experiences that are quite uncommon, please do go there and try the food for yourself.  It’s quite yummy. :p

I just want to let everyone know that Jon and I are completely and utterly grateful for everything that we’ve been blessed with thus far.  Who knew that I’d be living in my own place with the love of my life, my husband, at age 22 (23 now).  We have four wonderful pets that we absolutely adore and we’re both happy and healthy.  We couldn’t ask for more!

Maybe I’ll post something more interesting a little later… :)

By the way - Super Smash Bros. Brawl is coming out this weekend!  Jon and I have a copy on reserve so we can go to GameStop for their midnight opening!  YAY!

Valentine’s Day and then some

V-Day Flowers

The picture was taken by Jon recently. Those flowers are about 2 weeks old (slightly wilting).

Those are the flowers I got for Valentine’s Day this year. V-Day was on Thursday so Jon and I had limit the “us” time to make room for Lost that night.

We had dinner at 6pm at 14k - one of our many favorite restaurants. We wanted to go to the Melting Pot, but they were booked. :(

We then opened up our cards in the car on the way home to watch Lost. We exchanged gifts the night before (yes, I know….we’re always so anxious and excited).

Jon got the rest of the Dark Tower collection (Books 1-6) and cologne and Burberry Polo shirt.  I got an L.L. Bean winter jacket and will be getting J’adore perfume.

As for the ’some’ of the post, we’re looking into buying a house again. We’ve found one that we really like. We’re going to go look at it this Saturday with our favorite realtor, Connie Vanderpool. She’s so great and we love her to death! Hopefully this will be the one!

I’ve also been applying to some jobs lately. Now that we’re looking for a house, I was thinking that maybe….just maybe….I should really start working! :P

One last note…..my spring semester class is almost over! This saturday is the last saturday. FINALLY!!!!
